Automated Services Workshop

Good meeting Diane and Irene. Will one of you contact, Linda and see what she would like to do?

This is what I believe we decided:

A workshop on Podcasting which will ideally cover

  • What it takes to create and distribute a podcast
  • Best Practices
  • ROI (Return on Investment) - do they increase outreach, make you more visible
  • Vidpod

What we will do in the next two weeks:

  • Diane - Contact Infopeople on possibility of participating - 2 hour format
  • Irene - Contact YBPL
  • Pam - OCLC and Apple

Tentatively - 1st week in June (5th target date)
San Marino
4 hour unless it is a real winner with an exciting speaker then we might think about 6 with lunch brought in (more cost for the workshop)

We will conference call again - April 3rd @ 10:00 am

Hi Everyone,
I contacted Eileen at Infopeople. She was very gracious and nice. She is willing to help us up by being part of a panel. She also said that she is thinking about offering a podcast workshop possibly in fall. We thought if we provide our members enough information in our meeting/workshop to get them interested they might want to attend their official workshop. Therefore, our meeting does not have to be a training session. Also, the cost of having her provide complete training was fairly high (about $1000.00 – but she was not sure).
She also mentioned that they are looking for some training sites in the LA and Ventura (I think she said Ventura???) area. She sent me their requirements. I can forward her email if anyone is interested.
I am going to ask a couple of other people to find out if they have the expertise we need and willing to be part of our panel. I’ll keep you posted.
Diana

Just to update you on my non-news. I have made contact with Pam Bailey from OCLC (but what with PLA, etc. haven't had any firm news.) I am hopeful that they too will be part of our panel.
